Update 2 (Jamaica Jan Mission)

Dear Friends and Family,

Greetings again from sunny Jamaica! Yesterday (Sunday), we had a special retreat day for all of St Theresa parish (the main church and its mission chapels). It was called “Welcome Sunday,” and all the parishioners were encouraged to bring a friend.

The music ministry of St. Theresa began with lively Jamaican praise, and the missionaries welcomed both parishioners and guests. During Mass, Father shared of the freedom we have in Jesus, a freedom that allows us to live fully alive and retain continuous joy, despite the hardships we may sometimes face. After Mass, Father framed up the retreat portion of our day by sharing the theme — Christ Is Alive: the Way, the Truth, the Life. The missionaries performed 3 skits teaching about Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and we closed the morning with a time of brief Adoration. Several of the parishioners shared how moving it was to spend that extra time with Jesus…many had never had the experience of Eucharistic Adoration. Joseph, Lauren, and Theresa provided beautiful music as we adored our Lord.

Afterwards, we spent the afternoon serving lunch and fellowshipping with the community of St. Theresa. Theresa and Meghan even had their hair braided by two Jamaican sisters. Once we wrapped up, we gave the church a deep clean and spent some fraternal time in the beautiful ocean waters of Annotto Bay.

We closed the evening, as always, with Holy Hour and dinner, then prepped some kits for a visit we will be making to Annotto Bay High School, St Theresa Basic School, and May River Primary School.

Thank you again for your prayers and support. Please know of our prayers for YOU!
